I'm not dead yet!

Please excuse the mess here at Malbela. I've been busy writing papers for English class. It's amazing that one can sit down and write 15 pages and say nothing.

New look & more posts later this week. Plus the return of the miniblog & possibly the photoblog!

I promise.

Don't look at me like that.

What?

Stop it.

There's always a snag... right Mary? right Jane?

Less than one quarter of American teens are smoking! But there's one little problem.

"And then she hit my Gspot..."

Lauren is a true goddess. Thanks to her, I'm now the proud owner of a Gmail account.

Of course I know my luck... it'll come out of Beta tomorrow. and my invites will be worthless. But until then... anyone got an Orkut invite to trade?

Happy Solstice

Lest we forget, today is the longest day of the year! Happy Solstice!

(Actually the solstice moves dates, anywhere from the 20th to the 23rd. It is traditionally celebrated by the lazy or those without calendars on the 21st however.)

SLI Day One: Of Mice & Ghettomart

Well, finally here and It's not so bad, even if I do have to share a bathroom with two other people.

It's actually better than home in some respects, in the fact that the guys that I'm sharing with seem ok with me having a little bit of counter space in there. Also, neither of them have thrown any feminine hygiene products at or near the trashcan since I've been here.

Yesterday I woke up early, finished my packing and headed up to the school, getting there way too early and only to discover that Matt & Mary-Beth hadn't arrived yet. I left a message for Matt (which he couldn't answer due to some phone issues. Who knew you couldn't let people drive over the things?) and called Mary-Beth to discover that she wasn't going to meet us at school. Matt finally arrived and we headed out.

Matt & I talked most of the way and have come to the conclusion that we both hate Bush. Surprised, huh?

Arrival time was to be between 12:30 & 1:30, so of course I arrive at 1:25. Early I tell you. We went immediately into a session upon arrival and kept going pretty much all day. I really enjoyed finally learning about my personality type. I'd like everyone to know it's not my fault. You can't blame me for being messy, or shy, or quiet, or late ever again. It's not my fault! I'm an INFP! We're just made that way.

We had a speaker during dinner, president of one of the colleges. I'm sure we won't see Zeiss here, and if we did I'd have to be introduced to him for the 3 time. Could we get that man some ginkgo?

After dinner, we met with our work groups (Go Blue!) and discussed our project, it seems like it'll be pretty interesting. I think everyone in our group is bringing something different to the table and I can only hope what I bring is useful.

After group sessions and meeting with everyone to wrap up for the evening, we had the most important part of the trip.

Ghetto Walmart.

I'm just saying.

AllOfMp3 shares obvious bootlegs, MeFites oblivious

Over at MetaFilter, they're discussing AllOfMP3.com, a russian site that sells and gives away legal mp3s. Or so they say. Too bad the Janis Joplin Album they're giving away is a well known Bootleg from 1967.

Guess it's back to iTMS.

Edit 2:10am:
Just noticed that it's also an incomplete bootleg. It's missing the final track.

It's Pink Lady!... oh... and Jeff.

pinklady.jpgTRIO is showing Pink Lady... and Jeff as part of their FLOPS! month during June.

Pink Lady And Jeff was an NBC that lasted all of two months which starred Mie and Kei (pronounced Me & Kay) who together were Pink Lady, a pop duo from Japan. Mie & Kei were best known in Japan for replacing the words "In The Navy" in the Village People's song with "Pink-A-Lady".

This is one of the BEST of the Worst shows ever.

But Trio didn't stop there.

They've got Cop Rock too.
